Volunteering during the IMT Des Moines Marathon weekend is an exciting way to share the fun and excitement of race day. Plus, you’ll probably get a free high-five at some point.
Volunteers are critical to a successful event and every little task and minor detail ensures a positive overall athlete experience. There are various opportunities available and we promise a fun-filled time no matter what you choose to do!
We accept those looking to fill Silver Cord volunteer hours and can accommodate a group/team if you have interest in being together to help out.
And before you even hit “sign up” we want to give a big THANK YOU to every single volunteer.
Parking
Downtown Des Moines offers more than 30,000 public parking spaces including seven public parking ramps and approximately 3,100 stree parking spaces. All city-owned parking garages charge $1 per hour with a daily max of $10 (excluding special events). All downtown street parking spaces charge $0.25-$1.75 per hour from 9AM to 9PM Monday through Saturday. Download the ParkDSM app prior to race week! FIND PARKING.
