Volunteering with the IMT Des Moines Marathon is an exciting way to share the fun and excitement of race day.

Volunteers are critical to a successful event. Every little task and minor detail ensures a positive overall athlete experience. Many volunteer opportunities are associated with the IMT Des Moines Marathon race weekend from October 13 to 15, 2023. Volunteer registration will open in 2023.

All IMT Des Moines Marathon volunteers receive an official IMT Des Moines Marathon long-sleeve volunteer shirt.

Volunteers must be at least 14 years old or accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Silver Cord volunteer hours have been approved for Des Moines area students.

Parking

Downtown Des Moines offers more than 30,000 public parking spaces, including seven public parking ramps and approximately 3,100 street parking spaces. All City-owned parking garages charge $1 per hour with a daily max of $10 (excluding special events). All downtown street parking spaces charge $0.25 – $1.75 per hour from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Find parking.
