Segments along the marathon course consist of 4-Mile, 6-Mile, 4-Mile, 6-Mile, and 6.2-Mile distances.

Teams decide who will complete which course segment and in which order.

Teams with fewer than five will require at least one member to continuously complete more than one segment, as each athlete is only allowed once on the course.

Team results are scored by division on gun time, while split times are collected for results posting.

Awards are not offered in the marathon relay division.

Transition Areas

They are established at defined locations on the course where team members exchange from one segment to the next.

The team member who completes the first 4-Mile segment will carry a baton timing device as they line up at the start line.

The 2nd team member will receive the baton at the 1st transition area from the 1st team member, carry it on the course through their segment to the 2nd transition area, etc.

The final team member will cross the finish line with the baton.

The marathon relay allows the remaining members to join their final team member on the course at Mile 26 to cross the finish line as a team.

Transportation

One team member will always compete on the course while the others will transport themselves to the next transition area.

Teams are responsible for transportation (one vehicle) to and from the transition areas. There is NO shuttle or transportation service for team members to the transition areas.

Koch Office Group, 325 Grand Avenue, has offered its parking lot as a gathering place for your team vehicle before and after the race.
