All finishers are awarded a finisher medal. For those that cross the finish line sooner than others, here is what is offered.
Athletes must be officially registered for the race division they competed in, in order to qualify for any awards or cash prizes.
An athlete can be awarded prize money in only one event category. The IMT Des Moines Marathon does not duplicate, or ‘double-dip’ between prize money, overall awards, and age division awards. Prize money winners cannot also qualify for
If an athlete places in two prize money categories, prestige takes precedence. (Example: If an athlete qualifies for 3rd place in the Marathon and as Top Iowan, he or she would be awarded 3rd place in the Marathon, and then the next Iowan to finish would receive Top Iowan.)
Cash awards and gift card awards are based on gun time, not chip time. To view prize money and event records for each race division, click here.
