"Having the performers makes the IMT Des Moines Marathon a world-class event, like the Rock and Roll Marathons in San Diego and Phoenix. Although the runners only see us for 30 seconds or so, it gives us an opportunity to showcase the entertainers of Des Moines to thousands of people from around the country.

And being along the route you have an opportunity to see everyone who competes. I ran the IMT Des Moines Marathon five years ago and I've played on the route every year since. I can tell you -- it's a lot more fun playing along the route than it is running it!" - John Burns

2009 Course Entertainment.

The IMT Des Moines Marathon is looking for individuals and/or groups to volunteer their time and enthusiasm on race day by providing entertainment along the course for athletes.  Musicians and entertainers of all talent levels, sizes and artistic backgrounds are invited to join in the fun and celebration.

Let us know your area of interest or talent and we'll help you bring it all together.  There are a variety of locations on the race course where we can give you some exposure to the athletes and community while you provide a great source of support for the athletes along the course on race day.

Send your ideas or inquiries to the IMT Des Moines Marathon Entertainment Director or call Lori Williams at 515.360.0832 for more information.  You can also check out the IMT Des Moines Marathon entertainment page on myspace.com.

Thank you to Up Tempo Music , Woody's Smoke Shack and Fong's Pizza for supporting live music on the course!
