Memberships
USA Track & Field
USA Track & Field (USATF) is the National Governing Body for track and field, long-distance running and race walking in the United States. USATF encompasses the world's oldest organized sports, the most-watched events of Olympic broadcasts, the #1 high school and junior high school participatory sport and more than thirty million adult runners in the United States.
The USATF helps to establish and enforce the rules and regulations of our sport. They serve as a sanctioning body for more than 4,000 events each year. USATF also provides insurance to sanctioned events, validate records and certifying race courses for accuracy.
The IMT Des Moines Marathon is a member of the USA Track & Field Association.
Road Runners Club of America
The Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) is the national association of running clubs, running events and runners dedicated to promoting long distance running as a competitive sport and as healthful exercise. RRCA's mission is to represent and promote the common interest of its member clubs, events, and individual runners through education, leadership, programs and other services.
The RRCA is dedicated to providing the running community with educational information and programs that will keep them safe, healthy, and informed. The RRCA values running, runners, and the promotion of running as a healthy lifestyle choice.
The IMT Des Moines Marathon is a member of the Road Runner's Club of America.
Running USA
Running USA is a tax-exempt, non-profit, association founded in 1999 dedicated to serve and facilitate the growth of all aspects and entities of running and its health and fitness benefits.
Running USA, through its conference and other communication channels, provides the community 'meeting place' for major road race, media and athletic industry personnel. Currently there are more than 200 members that produce more than 300 events, more than 2 million race entrants, and many more spectators and fans.
The IMT Des Moines Marathon is a member of Running USA.

The Active Network, Inc. (‘Active’), based in San Diego, Calif., is the leading provider of online registration, data management and marketing services for races and events across North America. Event organizers in multiple sports and activities use Active’s technology and marketing services to enhance operational efficiency, promote their events and maximize participation.
Services for race directors include online registration and donation, data management, Web site design and content management tools, online training programs for runners, live race results and marketing tools such as e-newsletters, online advertising and promotion on Active.com.

Metro Waste Authority
As a regional government agency, MWA has served 16 Central Iowa communities and Polk County for nearly 40 years with environmental programs and services that are innovative, cost effective, award winning and technologically advanced. With annual operating expenses of approximately $18 million, no tax dollars are used to finance any of its facilities or programs.
The Metro Waste Authority agency manages the Metro Park East Landfill, the Metro Compost Center, the Metro Recycling Center, the Metro Transfer Station, the Regional Collection Center for Household Hazardous Waste; MWA also coordinates recycling programs for its member communities.

Keep Iowa Beautiful was founded in 2000 and is affiliated with the nationally acclaimed Keep America Beautiful. KAB has been working for half a century to improve the beauty of our nation.
Keep Iowa Beautiful works to assist communities and organizations in cleanup and beautification projects. Conduct research studies that will help us to understand the reasons some people litter and show a lack of respect for land and property. Provide anti-littering and beautification education programs. Increase public awareness of the costs of littering and encourage regional groups and communities to become Keep Iowa Beautiful affiliates/partners.

Central Iowa ARES® 
Home of the American Radio Relay League, the Central Iowa Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) returns to provide communication services for the IMT Des Moines Marathon on behalf of the National Association for Amateur Radio.
This volunteer network of radio operators will be stationed at key points along the race course that includes tracking lead runners, aid stations, first aid stations, tracking the tail runners/walkers and keeping the IMT Des Moines Race Committee in touch with one another throughout the day.
Iowa Kidstrong
The focus of Iowa Kidstrong is on elementary school initiatives designed to promote healthy lifestyles for kids and establish a foundation for lifelong health habits at an early and impressionable age.
The feature program, KidStriders, is an incentive program which revolves around running and walking. The program encourages goal-setting and lifestyle management skills, including a journalizing process that focuses not only on mileage, but also on the association of thoughts and feelings to activity and nutrition choices – all things encompassed by overall wellness.
Iowa Kidstrong organizes the Children's Center at Mercy Kids Run.
