The IMT Des Moines Marathon is proud to provide athletes a course lined with incredibly talented musicians and performers to entertain them throughout their race! Last year athletes were entertained more than 30 times throughout the 26.2 mile route, and we are on track for nothing less in 2012.
2011 Course Entertainment
It is our honor and pleasure to provide our athletes with local course entertainment as they compete in the IMT Des Moines Marathon & Half Marathon. We want our local athletes, as well as athletes from across the country, to recognize the IMT Des Moines Marathon for great course entertainment.
The IMT Des Moines Marathon has received positive feedback from so many athletes that we believe our course entertainment is just one more way we demonstrate our focus to provide the best in class course support!

This year we're expecting more than 10,000 athletes and spectators on race day. Talk about a large audience! IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN PROVIDING ENTERTAINMENT FOR THE IMT DES MOINES MARATHON, WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU! Entertaining athletes on the route is an incredibly rewarding experience, largely due to the gratitude displayed by the athletes. More than half of the musicians that perform on the route are repeat performers, because they have such a great time while providing a great source of support to the athletes.
"Having the performers makes the IMT Des Moines Marathon a world-class event, like the Rock and Roll Marathons in San Diego and Phoenix. Although the runners only see us for 30 seconds or so, it gives us an opportunity to showcase the entertainers of Des Moines to thousands of people from around the country. And being along the route you have an opportunity to see everyone who competes. I ran the IMT Des Moines Marathon five years ago and I've played on the route every year since. CURRENT NEEDS
The IMT Des Moines Marathon is currently looking for solo or duo performers, both acoustic and electric. Dancers and other types of diverse performers are also welcome. MUSICIANS AND ENTERTAINERS OF ALL TALENT LEVELS, SIZES, AND ARTISTIC BACKGROUNDS ARE INVITED TO INQUIRE.
